Who We Are

Ms. Buccellato/Ms. B/ ½ of Buccelleitner)  I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education from Presbyterian College.  I grew up in Atlanta and now live in the Alpharetta area.  I am an Auburn football fan and a big-time Atlanta Braves fan!  I love animals and have a dog, a pony, and a turtle. When not teaching or playing with my pets, I enjoy any outdoor activity, especially horseback riding. (I have been riding since I was in the third grade!) I also enjoy painting, traveling, playing soccer and reading.

(Mrs. Kreitner/Mrs. K/ ½ of Buccelleitner) Prior to teaching, I was a long-term substitute at Ocee and before that I was a teacher at a private preschool.   I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina.  I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at The University of Georgia.  I am a Bulldog at heart, but I share a home with some big-time Gator fans!  I am the proud mother of four beautiful children.  My daughter, Sara, is a 7th grader at Taylor Road Middle School.  My sons, Andrew, Benjamin, and Cameron are 5th graders here at Ocee.

What are we learning in the Buccelleitner Classroom?

Math-   We have completed our second unit on multiplication and division.  In our next unit, Measurement, students will learn how to measure using standard and metric units.  They will also review and learn how to tell time to the minute, and be able to determine the perimeter and area of an object.

Reading- We are reviewing the many skills we have learned over the year.  We are reviewing main idea, summarizing, details, inferencing, prefixes and suffixes, making connections, etc.

Fluency-  Our students the end of the year goal is 120 words per minute.  Reading fluency and comprehension are a critical components of third grade.  Please encourage your child to read daily.

Writing- We have completed our Narrative unit and are beginning our Response to Literature unit.  Students will learn how to respond to something they read and write an appropriate response.

Grammar- We are finishing our third Language Unit.  In this unit student's are learning about possessive pronouns, helping verbs, linking verbs, and we will do a more in depth study of the types of nouns.
